English VS Western- Which is better for me?

When it comes to riding, and you're first starting out, you want to answer a few questions. First, which is easier, which is more enjoyable, what is there to do, and will I enjoy it. When you read the sections below, you must understand that this is my opinion, and yours may be different- just to let you know!

Personally, I like riding english more, and I have ridden both of them. Well, I would have to say that Western is easier than English. Western has a more secure seat, and it's not as 'proper'. Western is far more relaxed than English. English can also be more competative. For the enjoyable part, that's really up to you! If you love competition, than either may be for you.

In English, you can compete in Showjumping, Dressage, Equitation, Steeplechase, or Crosscountry. I'll explain more about those in the Eventing section of my website. Now some people say that in English, you can't go trail riding. Yeah, right. Say you're out riding and there's a log you have to get over. In Western? Not a good idea to jump it. That's just my opinion though. Western, has more speed competing. There's that basics, which are Western Pleasure, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, or the Stake Race. Then of course, there's trail riding. Like I said before, the enjoyment is up to you. If you just started riding (say, about, two months), and you're riding Western but you want to switch to English, switch quick! You'll need to work on your posture a lot!

My riding teacher says that English and Western are the same difficulty level. All that's different is really the saddle. That makes sence.

English VS Western

I prefer english because it's really competative, and I'm just used to it. There's jumping, cross country, dressage and hunter. Plus, there are also some pony clubs that you can join. If you want to do english, be prepared for a little, but comfertable sadde, and loads of fun!

I used to ride western, and it was pretty fun too. If you love relaxing trail rides, racing around barrels, and adventure, then western is for you! You can choose whatever you want. Riding is tons of fun!!! I find western to be easier than english, but thats just my opinion. The main difference is what tack the horse wears.

Hopefully you watched the video. But do to copyright reasons, the movie had to be taken off of youtube. I'm searching for a different one right now.

THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE!
